I am participating in March for Babies, Kaitlynn and Anthony too
because I believe in the March of Dimes mission to save babies.

March for Babies 2008

I am writing to you today on behalf of my family and our March of
Dimes March for Babies Family Team, Holding John Joseph's Hand.

On February 13, 2006, my son, John Joseph, was born. He was 1lb
7oz... and 14 weeks too early. He and many babies like him had to
spend weeks in the NICU. Unlike other babies, John Joseph didn't get
to come home. On March 23, John Joseph died from complications from
his being born prematurely. It is in his honor that this March of
Dimes Family Team was created.
Last year, I was given another reason to walk. On October 22, 2007, I
was blessed with a daughter, Sabrina Rose, born at 38 (beautifully
full-term) weeks!!! Without the support of the March of Dimes, she
might not be with us today!
Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely.
Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life
long disabilities. The funds we raise in the March for Babies
(formerly WalkAmerica) support research that saves babies' lives.
